Mardi Gras Madness in the Gaslamp!

Sixteen years of beads, booze and debauchery have culminated into the most slamming Sweet Sixteen party in history! That’s right, on Fat Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 6:00 PM to Midnight the Gaslamp Quarter brings you a Mardi Gras celebration with all the irreverence of the French Quarter and all the hot Southern California action you’ve come to expect! Every block from E Street to J Street will throw its own smoking celebration for seven stages of entertainment, cool lounges, street performers, carnival action, super sexy go-go dancers and DJ’s, and of course the crown jewel of any Mardi Gras celebration TWO parades of floats, live music, animated processions and those coveted beads, beads, beads!

You heard right, every street is throwing its own party for seven interactive areas of entertainment. The party gets started where the beats meet the street with slammin’ hip-hop dancers; the “Candy Factory” is an all girl, all pink dance party with a smokin’ hot DJ lineup; catch the latest tricks on wheels in the “All Skate”; ride the “Crazy Cajun River Boat” as you listen to bayou themed entertainment; or check out a circus sideshow with the Zirk UBU crew and much more!

No matter where you choose to party N’awlins style, make sure you have your feet firmly planted on 5th Avenues at 7:30 PM for a Mardi Gras Parade to rival the best! This year, the parade will feature two Grand Marshals from MGM’s upcoming movie HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry. Dozens of colorful, creative and explosive floats will sail down the main parade route filled with dancers and party-goers blasting music and throwing those uber coveted beads! But this ain’t no ordinary Mardi Gras so we’re doing a second parade at 10:00 PM for double the decadence!

Mardi Gras will encompass the entire Gaslamp and then some. Tickets to the Sweet Sixteen of the century party are just $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event.
